Madonna Like a Virgin

I remember buying the vinyl during Christmas 1984 and thinking what a saucy bride Madonna resembled.

The songs are sung with a kind of girlish innocence which made the title song Like A Virgin so funny and terribly ironic. The same vocal style resulted in radio friendly ditties like Material Girl, Over And Over and Angel. Girls wanted to be her and boys wanted to squeeze her. The upbeat and bouncy tempo permeates the album making it an extremely fun record.

I kind of miss Madonna when she was young and immature and said silly things like:"Crucifixes are sexy because there's a naked man on them." Just imagine, nuns everywhere must be itching to spank her but she would have enjoyed it anyway.

Like A Virgin is tops for me given the flirtatious vibe that carry the whole thing through.
